Hello to everyone! I’m truly pleased to launch this blog — it’s been way too long in making its way online. I’m excited to finally start writing about the marketing topics I’m particularly passionate about:

Online Marketing – focusing on small businesses by conveying best practices and ideas for small business owners and managers to market online (without spending too much or gaining too little for the effort)

Social Media Marketing — sharing the latest techniques and tips to gain valuable coverage online (without giving up too much of your valuable time to cash in on the benefits)

Mobile Marketing — passing along news about how small businesses are capitalizing on the massive growth that is beginning to occur with mobile marketing in the U.S.

Local Marketing — sharing the best ways to leverage Google Places and other online directories to claim valuable online real estate that is rightfully yours — and most of it is free!

As a advertising and marketing professional with more than 25 years of senior level marketing experience, I’ve worked with (and for) huge companies, small businesses, and almost everything in between. I’ve been exceptionally fortunate to have had some amazing opportunities and I’ve learned a great deal from every business I’ve had the opportunity to assist.

Through it all, it became abundantly clear. As much as I’ve truly enjoyed every position and consulting opportunity that has come my way, I seem to feel my greatest passion when working with small businesses. Perhaps it’s because I’ve walked in those shoes as an owner of several small businesses myself.  That certainly makes it particularly easy to relate to other small business owners. Or maybe it’s just because I’m a Montana gal. There’s certainly no question that small businesses quite literally drive the economy in a rural state like ours.

Whatever the motivator, I just know that small business — and marketing — are what energize my soul and make my heart sing. And isn’t that what it’s all about? To truly do what you love, and love what you do?
